Lex wanted to recreate a dance she loved before and after the accident to show herself how far she has truly come…💗
Lex recently came up with the idea of changing this page from Move FOR Lex to Move WITH Lex. Lex is passionate about inspiring others to continue to get out and get moving. She is so grateful for all the support during her recovery, and now she wants to continue moving forward anyway she can for others and herself 💫

Without every single one of you this wouldn’t be possible 🦋
The last month has been absolutely crazy, a month we never expected. It’s incredible to look back and see how far we’ve come and how far this page has come in such a short time. The support is overwhelming and this movement is Off-course about Lex but is also about so many others who don’t have the ability to get out and move. The messages coming through detailing how inspired people are to sign back up to the gym or change their daily routines to ensure they are moving is exactly what this is all about. It’s been pushing us to train harder and be grateful for what we can do. This has been a massive reminder for us and hopefully for you to not take your health for granted. The last month has been a rollercoaster with a lot of downs but this video we consider one of our highs 🤍 We see all your posts and stories and can’t thank you enough. If you haven’t yet, get out this weekend and #moveforlex because as you can see in this video, even she is trying 🙏🏻 #moveforlex
Lex @alexa_leary recently paid a visit to Royal Brisbane Women’s Hospital and met with one of the lovely nurses who was working when Lex was first admitted to hospital after her accident 🧠🦋
Alexa was totally devastated by her classification which has come as a total shock to all concerned.
But if we know one thing about Lex, it’s that she’s going to take this new challenge in her stride. We all have no doubt the best is yet to come for Lex! 🦋
THE COMEBACK IS ALWAYS STRONGER THAN THE SETBACK 💪🏼
Going on a book tour with my story is something I’ll never take for granted. Every signature, every conversation, every person I meet reminds me why I kept going. This journey means more than words can explain 🤍📖✨

They thought Alexa Leary wouldn’t survive. In 2021, the then 19-year-old’s life changed in an instant when a cycling accident left her with a traumatic brain injury. Against all odds, she did. But survival was just the beginning - Alexa had to relearn everything: how to walk, how to speak, how to be.
Since then, she has gone on to win two Paralympic gold medals, a silver, and set both a world record and a Paralympic record at the 2024 Paris Paralympics.
In this powerful moment, Alexa opens up about what it really takes to rebuild - and the mindset that kept her moving forward when giving up would have been easier. Her new book, Sink or Swim, is out now - a raw, inspiring account of everything it took to get here.
