Itās not a secret that Iāve been struggling with knowing how to continue performing regularly when gigs are so tough on my disabled body. But engaging with different ways of performing have felt reinvigorating, allowing me to still engage with my creative practise without the pressure. I really enjoyed creating a sound art performance of my poems at LCB yesterday, as part of @courtneyaskey and @lioness.princess ās curated evening of Body-based sound performance, as part of @r10ems sound season.

And now for the sexy rollercoaster that is the landscape photos: swipe for photos of me being toasted for the bride nearly going home with me on the night she got with the groom, then being toasted for performing their wedding, then for @falafel.fan.club and I stripping the willow like we owned it, then for the hottest candid photo of me ever?? Best speaking gig of my life. Maybe I could make a profession of weddings, but only of people I really love. @jamburrito1 is truly the best wedding photographer
Last month I performed the show of a lifetime, the greatest honour of my heart. I married together two of the best people I know, @timpizzas and @iv_cutzzz . I got to write about Aristophanesā speech in Platoās Symposium, and the hot priest in Fleabag, and the love of my gorgeous friends.
Beautiful photos by @jamburrito1 and my jewellery and headpiece are by @cruxetcatena
Last year I reached peak library obsessive and became a library assistant. Inspired by @whatzaraloves physic media recommendations, hereās some ways you can use the library and library apps instead of subscribing to our tech overlords. Hmu for book rec and any questions about libraries (especially Leicester and Leicestershire specific!).
Well that certainly was a year.
Didnāt think I could look through my years photos in order to do a post like this without cryingā¦I was rightā¦but I Iām glad I looked to see the the light in this often very painful year (often literally, thank you multiple infections). This year I turned 30, needed glasses for the first time, got an autism diagnosis, and became a library assistant. I went to the hospital 4 times; I lost people (and a cat) I loved. I cried harder than I have in a long time and felt my heart break in new and complicated ways. But I also felt more solid in my friendships than I have in a long time and I saw them as often as I was able. I am hugely lucky to have a bunch of incredible friendships, many who are lifelong or decades old. Special shout outs to the Gay Group Chat, my band, and my birthday party wife.
