New from Patagonia! A FREE WALL KIT. See it here in the wild (then come by the shop to see it for real). Six pieces in this new kit. For Big Walls and Multi-Pitch Climbing. Focused on features to serve climbers — minimal weight, maximal durability, comfort, and practicability — but certainly advantageous for other adventures. The R1 Ultralight Hoody is smoothly abrasion-resistant and cozy inside. The Houdini Rock Jacket and Pants (NEWEST) keep us comfortable from instantly changeable weather — wind and wetness. Pants are easy to get on and off over shoes. Jacket stays tucked in even when arms are raised. Both stuff into their own pockets. The Free Wall Pants are lightweight and stretchy comfort that offer thoughtfully placed pockets accessible with a harness on. The Durable Down Jacket is just that — tough, tough outer with 800-fill-power and a light-weight lining. Stuffs into its own pocket to hang off your harness. Two-way zip. The Free Wall Pack. It’s streamlined, so it won’t catch. It’s durable, so haul up. Color-coded loops and room for two climbers. While these let us play hard, they also support our comfort for rest and recovery needed for more climbing moves. Come by the shop and check them out! Linkin bio to all of Patagonia and the FREE WALL KIT.

Women are badass! Mountain Chalet celebrates with all women who love the outdoors and Mother Nature with all that she offers! Over the years, several of them have done workshops at the Chalet -- Steph Davis, Anna Pfaff, and Dreama Walton. However, we noticed that not as many ladies visit the Chalet as do the guys, so there not getting out there as much. So, we teamed up with Black Diamond, an organization that believes in getting women out as much as we do, to offer Women's Only clinics in four disciplines. This way gals have a supportive and fun environment, led by women, to get them the skills to allow them to feel empowered and competent to take the next steps on their journeys. And yes, they are full of badassery! Happy Mom’s Day To moms, sisters, daughters, aunts, grandmothers everywhere. And not just on Mother's Day.

Mountain Chalet is not all about the technical side of getting outdoors. Our new Coloardo lifestyle apparel is here now for gals (and guys) - good for a mid-morning brunch or a walk through the park at sunset. Let the ladies in your life find what they will love and adore here on Mom's Day and then celebrate by doing your favorite thing with your favorite gal.

As with the beginning of many things, we pour our passion into projects we love—and somehow, out the other end, something awesome is born. You might even think of them as your babies… though we’re not talking about something technically alive. Still, it can feel that way. And it seems the Wet Mountains are really starting to sprout this year. First came the premiere showing of Dragons Teeth this past February. And now… a new guidebook: Oak Creek Grade Rock Climbing by Brian Dziekonski, focusing on climbing areas throughout the Wet Mountains. If you’ve ever tried to find information on climbing on the Wets, you know the struggle—it was hush-hush, unreliable, incomplete. Frustrated, Brian began keeping records of the climbs he and friends were doing. Those notes eventually grew into this guidebook-style pamphlet featuring more than 450 climbs. So let the exploring begin. The author’s favorite? Orinoco Flow on the Gash West Wall 3 pitches “perhaps the best route out there” (The question remains: song, river… or both?) Find your copy of OAK CREEK GRADE ROCK CLIMBING at Mountain Chalet—and start planning your next Wet Mountains adventure.
