Evidence
This film presents the vision of the elusive artist Johann Sebastian Geigenbauer.
Guided by Orson Welles’s voice in the 1938 War of the Worlds broadcast, the film revisits another archive of mediated belief.
Drawing from historical photographs, from the famous image of the Loch Ness Monster to alleged sightings of the Yeti, Geigenbauer translated these hoaxes into painted tableaux, later animated through AI.
Evidence, after all, is often a matter of presentation.
