Is there really anything better than a wedding at the Barker House in Scituate, MA around the Fourth of July?
The entire area of Scituate just radiates summertime vibes, which catered well to such a warm, loving event. Also, the clouds that day were apparently paid actors because they were absolutely beautiful during the portrait session.

A Seattle wedding that just kept giving me moments before I could even think about them.
There's something about watching two people move through their day like they actually trust it. Performing and managing and orchestrating had no place here. They just let it happen and stayed present for all of it. The laugh through the door before anyone saw her. His parents' hands on his jacket. The tears she wiped off his face mid-ceremony like it was the most natural thing in the world. The bouquets raised in the hallway afterward like a tiny, chaotic parade.

Oysters, open water, and a wedding at Captain Whidbey on Whidbey Island that I honestly never wanted to end.
Standing on that dock with water stretching out as far as you could see, I had to remind myself I was there to work. My film scans of this wedding turned out so, so beautiful, but it's hard to make such a stunning venue and such wonderful people not turn out like art!

The Presidio Officer’s Club in San Francisco carries the kind of history that makes a wedding feel like it belongs there.
Casey and Juan’s wedding felt that way. The people in that room loved each other in the way that only comes from years of actually showing up. You could see it in the way their friends moved around each other all night, how nobody needed permission to just be exactly who they were.
I kept thinking about that table of framed photos near the entrance. Every couple that came before them, frozen in their own version of this same day. There’s something really beautiful about that kind of continuity. About choosing to add your story to something that’s already been going for so long.

I've decided I absolutely LOVE bridal sessions and this one on the University of Washington campus was just so fun and full of laughs!
We had kind of thought about doing it at the peak of cherry blossom season, but if anyone knows UW during that time, it is wall to wall people. We went a little later, and to our surprise not only was the campus practically empty (though, to be fair, it was 8am on a Sunday), the soft pink petals were not only above but below, encasing them in a little pink wonderland.
This late summer wedding in North Salem, New York had me putting on my dancing shoes like nobody's business.
The entire setting of the day was nothing less than magical, from the love shared between Nadine and Lena and all of their friends and family to the soft tinkling of the rain on the tops of the trees as they spoke their personal vows. They even had a little art show of work from their loved ones on display during cocktail hour!
Then, naturally, we all started scream singing on the dance floor to Taylor Swift and spun in circles to Dancing on My Own by Robyn. Ending the night with a big bonfire roasting s'mores was the perfect finish to such a charming, heartwarming day.

the sun is so beautiful outside here in olympia, washington today that i just had the urge to post this.
there's something about shoots like this that scratch an itch that no other work can. my backyard was so overgrown and before eric could work on it i reached out and asked if anyone wanted to come over and model in my backyard, and luckily i got a response.
anyone who has followed me for a while knows that the suburbs are one of my deepest interests, specifically the dynamics of the people living within them. they symbolize so much for me, good and bad, and my dream has always been to create art surrounding them to further delve into my obsession.
maybe this summer i'll set aside more time for this endeavor.
