Professionals from mossArchitects Compete to Build the Best Gingerbread House @mossarc celebrates the holiday with a friendly challenge. The office split up into three teams to create entirely edible homes out of cookies, candies, and icing. The results: delightful, creative, as well as a heck of a lot of fun. mossArchitects is honored to announce that our Casa Del Consuelo project, in collaboration with bldgtyp, has received First Place in the Spanish Colonial Revival category of the national California Rebuilds Passive House design competition organized by the Passive House Network @the_phnetwork in collaboration with Passive House California @passivehousecal . The competition invited architects and designers to envision high-performance, fire-resilient homes for communities rebuilding after the 2025 Los Angeles wildfires. Casa Del Consuelo “House of Comfort”reimagines the Spanish Colonial Revival tradition through a contemporary and sustainable lens, demonstrating how Passive House principles can deliver exceptional comfort, energy efficiency, and resilience while maintaining regional authenticity. We’re honored to have our work recognized among so many inspiring submissions. mossArchitects believes that good design is resilient and we seek to challenge the status quo and create unique design solutions that will stand the test of time. We are proud to contribute to a more resilient future for Los Angeles communities and to our future projects.

2025 Fall Sketchbook Residency is sponsored by @mossarc . The firm shows support for local artists, Lawrenceville and sketching in general! Their award winning structure on a prominent corner along the Penn Ave Arts Corridor is home to Pedantic Arts Residency @caseydroegeculturalproductions and @silvereyelab where we scan each drawing in the sketchbook after completion. Their decades of design work in Lawrenceville is appreciated on the daily. Thanks @andomo412

On site for a major construction milestone! We’re south of Pittsburgh at one of our new single-family residential projects, where the structural steel is now in place — including a large steel truss that supports the open-span living, dining, and kitchen areas while enabling a dramatic cantilevered roof. More to come as the construction continues! * * #mossarchitects #gooddesign #architecture #residentialarchitecture #modernhome #underconstruction #steelstructure #cantilever #pittsburgharchitecture #sitevisit #customhome #archidaily #archigram #modernarchitecture #steeltruss #openplanliving

Projects like Pusadee’s Garden exemplify the thoughtful and innovative design that earned mossArchitects the prestigious AIA Pennsylvania 2024 Architecture Firm Award. By skillfully blending historic preservation with modern elegance, we work to create spaces that inspire and endure. Nestled in Pittsburgh’s vibrant Lawrenceville neighborhood, Pusadee’s Garden reimagines two historic 100-year-old rowhouses and a vacant lot into a lush courtyard oasis. By seamlessly integrating timeless materials and expansive garden views, the design blurs the boundaries between urban architecture and nature, offering an intimate dining experience that feels both tranquil and deeply connected to the city’s energy.
