๐ Filed trip and research 1: Stone Horses Temple. The snail-like dropped ceiling lying between the stone and earth walls. This unique design were built in Ming dynasty to protect the stone carvings and fresco murals from Wei dynasty.
๐ชฆ๐บThis Jin Dynasty tomb complex was discovered less than 100 yards from my parentsโ home shortly after I immigrated to the United States. When I was a child, I heard the horrifying rumor that in ancient times, people over 60 were locked up in tombs to wait for death. In fact, it was a defense mechanism for the elderly to avoid war and to avoid being exposed in the wilderness during wartime. It is similar to bonkers. Due to physical exhaustion, the elderly would hide in the tombs with food and water before the war came, and wait for their families to rescue them after the war. If something unfortunate happened, this would become their decent tomb.
