I've often wondered what doing a marathon would be like and last weekend somehow finally did it. My soul is full.
I spend so much time thinking and creating at a desk in the studio, that I've always needed an outlet to help balance body and mind. Over the years, running has been a constant, sometimes I do it more, sometimes less, it always puts me in a positive mood.
So last weekend I did the @kunanyimountainrun Alpine Marathon, which included 46kms with 2360m of elevation; scrambling up and down and across boulders and negotiating sections of knee deep mud. Pure #trailrunning pleasure.
The event's mantra of running WITH kunanyi, the mountain, is a huge inspiration. The smoking ceremony fuelled the spirit at the starting line and the finish area is a festival, this year even had DJs. I was supported by family and it's a great joy to see my kids as well as their grandparents also participating.
If you interested, there's heaps of runs on offer at the spectacular @kunanyimountainrun event, from 9km (which you can walk) to 68km ultra, kids races, cultural walks etc.

Lots of fresh records in packed @cosmonautsrecords crates ready for Hobart Vinyl Record Fair this Sunday at the “Convict City Roller Derby gym” next to Australian Italian Club in North Hobart! That poster may be AI but nothing else is, lots and lots of records to dig through that you won’t find easily anywhere else (or even via streaming) including salsa, cumbia, zouk, reggae and tonnes of African and Caribbean rhythms. Also some random country, pop, jazz, rock, etc to keep everyone happy. CDs, books...and that’s just my stall! There’s a couple dozen more sellers. Come dig and hang!
Fun times today DJing for good vibes at my local Community Childcare Centre and to fundraise. Sun is shining and It’s a Market with yummy things for parents and lots of activities for thé kids ☺️

"The search for a connection between traditional world music and electronic elements led me to the Swiss label Hawaii Bonsaï Records. In 2019, they released the second album by Cumbia Cosmonauts, a project by Australian DJ and producer Moses Iten. In addition to his partner Thomas „Soup“ Campbell, African musicians Lamine Sonko, Amadou Kalissa and Olugbade Okunade also collaborated on this album.
The result is a thrilling mix of Cumbia, African music and deep bass. Whatever you call it, Digital Cumbia, Global Bass or Tropical Bass: It’s definitely hot stuff!"
