Moses did something out of the ordinary.
He didn’t pull guard. 😂
Jiujitsu is still his first love, but wrestling is started to creep up.

Our trip to Arizona for the Phoenix Adcc open was the toughest road trip ever. Elijah had to win or at least podium for him to get a chance to be in the championship in Texas this August. Not trying to make a post about excuses, props to all the competitors. They earned it. 💯
We just want to share our story.
1. Thursday - Moses starts to feel an itch in his throat, which turns into a migraine, then of course a fever.
2.Thursday Night on our way to Arizona (6.5 hr trip) we had to stop half way and sleep at a rest stop due to Moses coughing crazy and feeling nuaseated so we had no choice but to sleep in the car for the night. We barely slept.
3. Friday - we wake up with Elijah having a headache too now. 🤦🏻♂️On our way to the weigh ins, we stop at Whole Foods and get whatever medication to help suppress whatever it is that they going through. Weigh in’s was all good
4. Friday night- bracket came out unusually early on smoothcomp. First match starts at 11:20 am for Elijah and Moses starts at 11:30. This is good news. We can sleep in a little bit and eat a good breakfast!
5. Saturday Morning- Elijah wakes up at 8:00 am to check out smoothcomp only to find out his match is about starts in 5 minutes. For some reason they move his time back! Problem is our hotel is 35 mins away. Fortunately I was able to contact Caitlyn (event organizer), she told us that she won’t DQ him and to make it by 8:30am. We rush out the hotel room, and ran out like chickens with their heads cutoff. 😂
No chance to brush our teeth or breakfast and on top of that I had to go take a dump badly💩. One minute he was in bed, the next he was already on the mat. With a stank breath, coals still in his eyes, Elijah battled valiantly and ended up losing in overtime. Same thing happen the next match against another great opponent. Wow ..just like that it was over for him. We felt so bad for Elijah and I still had to go number 2 💩😂.
For Moses, he had to wait 3.5 grueling hrs for his first match to start. He was fighting his sickeness and his opponent. All bad. He went 2-2. Moral of the story -don’t get sick and take a dump no matter how late you’ll be. 💯

Detour to Oakland for some Cambodian food. Definitely one of the highlights of the trip!
Then came home to a suprise package @albinoandpreto

Had no choice but to win.
This is Pans.
The opportunity he’s been waiting for to proove that he belongs.
The adversities, the prejudices, the injuries, the mental anguish, the sacrifices, blood, sweat, and tears.
Everyday was a challenge.
Everyday from am to pm
Yet he never complained once.
No one knows what he went through or even cared.
It’s just how life is.
No excuses
How can he lose?
He had one of the all time greats in his corner.
Trains at the best academy in the world.
Nothing could stop him.
Yet another controversial match with a controversial call ended his dream.
Toughest lost ever.
One and done.
Again no excuses.
No one cares.
The results is all that matters.
No shiny medals to take pictures of afterwards.
Have to take it in the chin.
It was a long trip home.
The IBJJF gods are cruel.
They don’t care how hard you worked for this.
Disappointment is an understatement.
One thing is certain adversity will always be his teacher.
More lessons learnt.
More experiences gained.
His vision and dreams is still clear.
This is want he wants.
