I painted this mural in Tena for Meeting of Styles Ecuador 🙌🏽🇪🇨
It’s a tribute to the ancestral heritage of this region, inspired by the Amazonian tradition of facial painting used by many Indigenous communities as a source of strength, energy, and protection. These markings often express identity, resistance, resilience, wisdom, and the deep bond between people and the rainforest.
During my time in Tena, many locals shared how important it is to keep these roots alive, so I wanted this piece to honor that connection.
A reminder to celebrate where we come from. 🌿💙🎨
