The jury valued the project’s investigative approach and critical reading of the urban landscape. Through a careful and articulated process revolving around social and economic issues, the project highlights a striking reality: the largely under-occupied business district is symptomatic of a structural imbalance between built production and social needs.
Mark Balint, Jakob Bittner, and Moritz Hahn are spatial designers who joined forces for various collaborations after their studies in Würzburg, Germany. In 2025 they founded their shared practice gumball.agency, an experimental, transdisciplinary concept engine operating at the intersection of art, spatial design, and urban culture. Guided by research and intuition, they explore untapped potentials through unconventional synergies, creating projects that blur boundaries between disciplines and open new perspectives on contemporary spatial practice.
