Bright sunny calendula flowers, my mosses and violets which do a great job as a living mulch, foxgloves and roses starting to bloom. Waiting a bit longer before I put in our summer veggies. #MorphisStudios #SEPDXgardens #bloomscrolling
My evening walk last week. Late tulips are winding down, wisteria is blooming everywhere. The tree with the dark pink blossoms made babies in my yard, glad I finally found the mature tree on the block, it gets way too tall so I will dig it up and add it to my tree giveaway from my bird poop forest. So far I have hawthorne, holly , crabapple, bay, and Japanese plum trees. The birds sit on the tabs pole tree in front and poop out the seeds from stuff they’ve eaten and I get so many interesting volunteers.

Pander Brothers - Altered Ego. Had such a fun time at the screening, it was great to see both their first feature length film and a broad assortment of shorts and music videos. I first became a fan back in the 1980s when my roommate Bryan worked at the DC Comic book warehouse in Houston TX. He brought home Grendel and Dark Knight: City Of Light and I was completely blown away by the artwork. Flash forward I move to Portland and run into Jacob Pander at ProPhoto Supply where we were both picking up some gear and I had to suppress my fan gushy instinct and try to act all cool and be like “Hey .., (long awkward silence) so picking up today? Love your work”. Jacob does such an amazing job with his cinematography working with Oregon Art Beat, and Arnold has a sublime touch with his watercolors, velvet paintings, and erotica. Together they have created a look that has defined the Portland scene, with so many amazing murals around town, so many great comic books., coffee shop interior design, you name it. They are kind and hilarious, we are so lucky to have them here in Portland, carrying on the Pander family legacy!
Hanging my eggs on my fertility tree like a good German pagan. Wishing much abundance to all. I decoupaged a few eggs with tissue paper and put vintage stickers on them, hung a few my kids had decorated, and glued a Japanese plum tree blossom on one we will see how it holds up. I have a bunch of really cool eggs my kids decorated that I saved this is a nice way to remember them, and all the Easter egg hunts and brunches we shared with the families here in the neighborhood when our kids were still littles. Our kids are all grown now but there is a new batch of kids and families so the tradition continues!
