👹Estamos emocionados de presenciar a esta banda de culto, que, junto a nombres icónicos como Incantation e Immolation, aportaron a definir el sonido del death metal de NY.
Fundada en 1990 bajo el nombre de Morpheus, la banda lanzó dos demos de manera independiente y un EP a través del legendario sello Seraphic Decay Records. En 1992, lanzaron su primer álbum, Ritual of Infinity, adoptando el nombre Morpheus Descends. A lo largo de los años, publicaron varias producciones más hasta su separación en 1997. Sin embargo, en enero de 2013, la banda se reunió con la alineación original y grabó un EP titulado From Blackened Crypts.
Su sonido se caracteriza por un death metal a medio tiempo, muy rítmico, con riffs arrastrados que a menudo contrastan con explosiones de blast beats y complejos arreglos de batería. 👹

KTDF has always been about presenting the contemporary active death metal bands from around the world while combining the line-ups with some select artists from the classic eras of death metal.
The band we are announcing today has been in the game almost from the very beginning, but still they have only performed in Europe twice over the years and never did any tours. The last time they were here was all the way back in 2016, so we feel it’s time for their return. We are extremely excited to announce that MORPHEUS DESCENDS will play a one-off exclusive show at KTDF X!!!
Morpheus Descends (@morpheusdescends ) is a death metal band formed in Middletown, New York in 1990. Originally known as Morpheus, the band was among the first in their area to embrace the death metal sound, standing out when thrash was fading and death metal was emerging. Their early performances helped establish their presence in the underground metal scene, and they quickly became influential within the New York death metal community.
The band's debut album, “Ritual of Infinity” from 1992, marked the beginning of their legacy, followed by the dark and intricate “Chronicles of the Shadowed Ones” EP from 1994.
Morpheus Descends celebrates its 35th anniversary in 2025, having cemented its enduring influence within the death metal genre. They are currently working on a new album, further expanding their legacy and continuing to push the boundaries of the genre. Their commitment to their craft and the strong bonds they've formed within the underground music community continue to resonate with fans and musicians alike, as they remain vital in the scene.
