Throwback to THE GAME, my 48 hour film submission to this last @clubhousefilmfestival
I have not gotten around to posting much about this project since school/work has kept me busy as ever, but I just wanted to post some BTS and give some well deserved appreciation to the amazing people who worked on this fun project!

Tickets for the Newport Beach Film Festival have just gone live, make sure to get them while they last! NEET will be screening there on October 19th at 12:15 PM!

(2/2) The House.
The initial plan was to make a 1/24th scale model house to blow up. In the end, @vickluongg and @marloidnyy were able to make this beautiful 1/12th scale model house with wood sweat and an amazing dedication. Without their help, this never could have happened.
In the weeks leading up to the range day, my dad and I made another model house from foamcore as an emergency backup, but I think it pales in comparison to the massive wooden model.

(1/2) I just wanted to take a moment to talk about the single most exciting, nail-biting and euphoric shot I have ever taken part of:
My entire initial motivation to make my short film, NEET, stemmed from a single idea: I wanted to blow up a miniature scale house. From that idea, I spent months organizing with my friends and fellow student filmmakers composing the script, organizing shoot days, and of course constructing the model (more detail on part 2).
Almost a full year after hitting the drawing boards (literally), I found myself in the middle of the Mojave desert with every camera I could gather, and two gorgeous scale replicas of houses that were in severe need of exploding. With the help of a team of demolition experts, det-cord, and some liquid fuel, we sent those houses to the moon.
It’s impossible to fully describe how I felt in that moment when the house exploded. It was terrifying. It was awesome. And we did it.
