Morocco’s internet speeds just made a global leap.🇲🇦

💡Morocco has recorded one of the biggest digital leaps in the region, climbing 22 places in global mobile internet rankings following the launch of 5G services in late 2025.
💡According to Ookla’s Speedtest Global Index, Morocco rose to 39th place worldwide in mobile internet performance by the end of 2025 — becoming the top-ranked country in North Africa for mobile speeds.
💡The surge came after 5G rollout and continued investment in network modernization, fiber infrastructure, and faster mobile capacity — driving a sharp rise in high-speed connectivity tests nationwide.
Would faster internet influence where you travel?

For the first time in history, a giraffe has been born in Morocco.🦒 💡Morocco recorded a historic wildlife milestone with the birth of its first giraffe ever born in the country, at Dream Village Zoo, located between Casablanca and Mohammedia. 💡The newborn — a healthy female calf — is being closely monitored by veterinary teams as she begins her early development. Her parents, Sophie and Paco, were brought from Italy about five years ago as part of a conservation and breeding initiative. 💡Zoo officials say the birth marks a major step toward establishing local giraffe breeding programs and reducing reliance on imported animals in the future. Have you ever seen a baby giraffe in person? 📍Morocco

One year changed everything — satellite images reveal Morocco’s landscapes coming back to life.🇲🇦 💡New satellite imagery from the Copernicus Sentinel-3 program reveals a dramatic environmental shift in northern Morocco, where landscapes that appeared dry and brown just a year ago are now covered in vibrant green vegetation. 💡The comparison between images taken in February 2025 and February 2026 shows how two months of strong winter rainfall revived fields, hills, and valleys that had been affected by prolonged drought conditions. 💡The rainfall also helped replenish the country’s water reserves. As of February 2026, Morocco’s reservoirs reached about 70.7% of total dam capacity, while overall water resources increased by roughly 155% compared with the same period in 2025. Did you know landscapes can change this dramatically in just one year? 📍Morocco

Morocco is making a major luxury hospitality push in 2026 with the opening of Hilton's iconic Waldorf Astoria brand in Ben Guerir, a city centered around the Mohammed VI Polytechnic and OCP offices. This is the first Waldorf Astoria property in Morocco, signaling the country's shift toward attracting high-end travelers beyond traditional destinations. Simultaneously, several other luxury properties are launching across Morocco through 2026: IHG's Kimpton brand debuts in Marrakech with 67 rooms in Q4 2026, Radisson's Lincoln property reopens in Casablanca after renovation, and boutique hotels open in the blue-washed mountain town of Chefchaouen and the coastal city of Agadir. These openings are part of Morocco's ambitious 2023-2026 tourism roadmap, which aims to add 25,000 hotel rooms by 2030 and attract more international luxury travelers. If you're planning a Morocco trip or love luxury hotel debuts, which of these new properties interests you most?
