This VCF design is stripped down to the bare essentials: just two diodes and a capacitor.
The diodes act as voltage-controlled resistors by biasing them with the CV and adding a scaled-down version of the audio signal. Together with the capacitor, the circuit behaves like an RC low-pass filter - but with a cutoff that follows the CV.
