These were the first two I painted this year. It was cold still, maybe February. They reminded me of Richard Diebenkorn, instantly, I don't fully know why. I call them Richard I and II. Maybe a new direction for what is to come, if anything. I wanted to paint simpler again this year, dreamy, dry, possibly also because the past two years have been a lot, and changed everything.
