NORM – aluminum pendant lamp
All outer components of the lamp are made from just a single aluminum profile. This allows for a simplified production with very little scrap material.
In 2023 the design was shortlisted for the @1_and_20 award – now I am excited to see the lamp hanging in my living room!💡

Building the prototype of my NORM pendant lamp💡
Even without a full metal workshop at the studio, I’m really happy with how the first results turned out.
The NORM lamp is made from just a single aluminum profile, keeping production simple while minimizing material waste.

The MODI lamp combines two functions in one: it can provide both a focused reading light and a soft, diffused glow. To switch between the two, the lamp head can simply be tilted.
I built this lamp a couple of years ago, and I still really like its simple functionality. it’s been standing in my apartment ever since☀️

Sometimes, in order to build the actual part, you have to build a tool first.
For a lighting project I’m currently working on, I needed custom metal brackets. I designed and 3D printed a pressing tool to shape them precisely and produce them consistently at scale.
Along the way, the tool itself became a fun little side project.
More on that soon!

I recently captured some shots of the NORM pendant lamp during a light summer storm outside my living room. It created a pretty cozy atmosphere 💤

☆ WE TAKE YOU TO MILAN
→ Moritz Walter (Kunsthochschule Berlin Weißensee, Germany) + Hotspot
☻ How do we want to heat in the future? We will have to switch to sustainable and renewable energy sources, as fossil fuels do not offer a long-term perspective. Furthermore, conventional heating systems with complex infrastructure can only insufficiently meet individual heating needs. The project Hotspot explores the possibilities of decentralized, electricity-based heating. By creating smaller heat zones in the room, heating is both more comfortable and more efficient. The product family includes a heating panel for large-area heating and mobile, modular heat storage units for heating close to the body. The objects are able to respond flexibly to individual heating requirements and fit seamlessly into living environments.
