«Einfach individuell» Recyclingterrazzo von VIA, HGC

Die Frage, wie Abbruchmaterial weiterverwendet werden kann, stellt ein zentrales Thema im heutigen Diskurs in der Baubranche dar.
Bauschutt als Zuschlagsmaterial von Terrazzobodenbelägen zu verwenden, hat sich HGC zur Aufgabe gemacht. Mit dem Recyclingterrazzo von VIA werden diverse Materialien aus dem Rückbau wie Glas, Dachziegel und Backsteine zu individuellen Böden verarbeitet. Auch lokale Gesteinszuschläge aus Flusskiesel können zum Einsatz kommen. Das verwendete Bindemittel ist zement- und epoxidharzfrei, was das Material wiederum recyclebar macht. Es zeichnet sich zudem durch seine einfache Verarbeitung aus, welche es einer grossen Anzahl an Unternehmern erlaubt, den Terrazzobelag einzubauen. Am Anlass führt Norbert Kummermehr durch die einzelnen Arbeitsschritte und gibt einen Überblick über die vielseitigen Gestaltungsmöglichkeiten.
Beim Haus der Werte in Basel verbindet ein Terrazzo mit goldgelbem Marmorsplit die Räumlichkeiten und sorgt für eine durchgehend warme Atmosphäre. Martin Klein stellt das ambitionierte Projekt vor, welches Veranstaltungsinfrastruktur mit Wohnraum vereint, und erläutert die Absichten hinter der Materialwahl.
Eine grosse Bandbreite an Mustern mit unterschiedlichsten Zuschlägen, Schleifgraden und Oberflächenbehandlungen stehen zum Ansehen und Anfassen bereit.

Extension of the Kappelerhof School Complex, Baden, competition entry, 2025
The new four‑storey rectangular volume completes the existing ensemble by occupying the exact site of the former kindergarten, subtly rotated to integrate into the overall geometric concept. Together with the two existing buildings, it forms a coherent trio that creates a variety of attractive outdoor spaces.

At Kräuelgasse House in Zurich, a gallery connects the attic studio to the living area below, creating a generous sense of space. The extension is conceived as a lightweight timber structure, while timber floors, lime-plastered surfaces, and aluminium windows reference the building’s former commercial use.

On the third floor, the vertical extension of the project on Kräuelgasse accommodates the living and dining area, which opens onto the terrace, creating a seamless connection between interior and exterior. The private rooms are located on the level below, within the existing structure, where former offices have been converted into residential spaces.
