Extended Workshops this Summer at the Morgan!
Spots are filling quickly for the Morgan’s new Extended Workshop series. Meeting Thursday evenings from 6 to 9 pm, June 4 through July 9, 2026, these six-week courses are designed as progressive studio experiences that allow participants to move beyond introductory exposure into deeper skill development, guided practice, and sustained creative exploration.
Join us to build your skills in Bookbinding and Letterpress while fostering camaraderie and community in the studio. Each workshop is led by an experienced teaching artist and structured to support both beginners and individuals looking to expand and deepen their existing practice. Over the course of six sessions, participants will refine technique, strengthen conceptual thinking, and gain confidence working with tools, materials, and process.
With small class sizes of just 6 to 8 participants, the Extended Workshops provide individualized guidance and a collaborative learning environment grounded in respect for craft, experimentation, and artistic growth.

Calling all book arts lovers! Join us for a virtual workshop, Tunnel Books taught by Beth Sheehan @sheeprints on June 23rd, 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Tunnel Books are a fun, movable book structure originally produced as keepsakes and souvenirs. The book mimics a stage and each page provides a world with depth and perspective.
In this three-hour virtual workshop, participants will learn to make their own tunnel book and discover tricks for creating layered environments through collage, utilizing texture and color theory to transform this fascinating structure into a world of open possibilities.

Join us at the Morgan on June 20th and 21st, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. for Natural Dyes on Paper taught by Maggie Latham @maggie.latham .
Over two days, participants will explore how to customize paper using eco-friendly dye baths made from plants. The workshop covers the soy milk mordant technique, preparing a dye vat, immersion dyeing, and eco-printing on paper. Every participant will leave with a collection of beautifully colored, naturally dyed, and eco-printed papers ready to use in future creative projects.
This workshop is a wonderful opportunity to connect with natural materials and slow, intentional process. It is the kind of work that reminds us how much beauty can come from the simplest sources.
