JayBee in the Place to Be! You did it! From sitting in the stands as a little girl at WNBA games in 1997… to now holding the microphone as the In-Arena Host for the Los Angeles Sparks. 💜⚡️ This moment means more than I can put into words. I’ve been attending WNBA games since the league’s inception — and yes, I still have the receipts, ticket stubs, and memories to prove it. Back then, I was inspired by the energy, the excellence, the culture, and the women who showed me what greatness looked like on and off the court. I never could’ve imagined that one day I’d be part of creating that same experience for others. Hosting has been a part of my life for over a decade. From community events, nonprofit galas, and local entertainment… to arenas, stages, and now one of the most iconic franchises in women’s sports — every opportunity prepared me for this one. There were moments I questioned if a major league opportunity would ever happen for me. I kept showing up anyway. Kept growing. Kept believing. Kept working. Just Believe! I know my granny is so proud. And now I understand: God had something specific planned for me. Not just any team. This team. This timing. This journey. To everyone who has supported me through every mic check, every audition, every “almost,” every pivot, and every season of growth — thank you. This is bigger than a title for me. It’s purpose, legacy, and representation all wrapped into one. The little girl from Compton who loved the game never stopped dreaming. It’s my TEDx Anniversary!!!! @tedxcomptonblvd Changed a lot in Compton and a lot in me! Thank you to every person who helped make this moment come together 6 years ago during the literal start of COVID and my 31st birthday - the year I moved to Vegas and learned to start from the bottom, again. I’d say I’m pretty proud of where I’m from and who I’m still becoming. Still recovering from chemo mentally and physically - I was so determined to tell my story. Compton helped me do it! @prosper_vch continues to change the heart of the city through @compton_wellness_collective and a platform for so many of us to get our @ted start! Now I’ve even hosted one!
