From the first page to the very last, Daggermouth, a truly dark dystopian book, had my full attention! I couldn’t look away from the intense political intrigue & feminine rage against oppression. Those raw emotions are what makes this book sooo gripping.
Expect themes of privilege vs. poverty, lethal romantic intrigue, feminine rage, rebels, tyranny, secrets, lies, and no mercy.

🌹 I highly recommend City of Iron and Ivy from debut author Thomas Kent West. This murder mystery has a gothic undertone (adjacent to Adalyn Grace's Belladonna), yet Thomas Kent West uses a new, more sinister application of botany, unlike anything l've heard of. This is set in a regency era parallel to Victorian London. I’m obsessed with all of it! Especially the undercurrents of liberation and self-agency. A remarkable debut!! The audiobook performance is great, too! This could very well be my favorite book of the year📚
