Today marks my two years living back in Hawaii. ‘Āina has been good to me. I just hope I can be just as good back. But one thing always still lingers…I wish Zach was here to witness all these breathtaking sunsets. I witness for the both of us now. Never does a moment go by, when I see the setting sun and he doesn’t cross my mind. He keeps the fight in my heart to see many more sunsets and to keep feeling that warm sun. Despite it all.
2025 was spent exploring all the edges of this beautiful place I’m blessed to call home, alongside the best humans. Giving back and tending to ʻĀina as much I could, finding my tribe and building and working with the community through all the best intentions. The ride through this year wasn’t always easy but it was certainly worth it. My heart is full and open! Thanks to all the gems that made it special.
2026 : more waterfalls, more conservation volunteering, and continued growth full of love.
There’s this unique kind of sadness I feel when a strong beautiful tree that’s weathered many storms is cut down by man’s hand. I often feel like I’m from a different planet but connected to the trees just the same.
Got to finally join in on volunteering with @alohatreealliance . Always so grateful for ʻĀina and learning about all it has to offer and give back how I can. Shout out to @hnl_hike_club@iluvshilo for being such a wonderful conduit for us nature lovers and informing us of all the amazing organizations on the islands. Many hands make light work.
