What does Moo Like a Monkey mean? Monkeys don't moo. Why call a shop something so stupid? Where have you put all my socks?
All great questions that I hear a lot.
I know what it means but I've always been terrible at explaining it to anyone who asked.
So I asked ChatGBT to help me out and what it came up with was brilliant.
'A monkey that could "moo" would be a unique and extraordinary individual in the animal kingdom, standing out from its peers. Similarly, a person who is brave enough to embrace their uniqueness and be different from the crowd can also be seen as extraordinary in the human world.
demonstrate the courage to break away from the expected or the norm. They capture our attention and imagination, reminding us that diversity and individuality are qualities to be celebrated. These exceptional cases can inspire us to embrace our own distinctiveness and be unafraid to express ourselves in our own, unique ways.'
(I can't remember where I've put the socks unfortunately. )
Team Moo assembled!!
From left to right this is Nav, Helen, me (Charlotte), Laura, Ginger, Freya, and Jameela on the right .
This talented, vibrant, smart bunch each bring something so unique and valuable to our team and we're grateful to be able to work with them.
I love this photo. It makes me feel excited to imagine what we can all achieve together.

Closing a shop down is harder than it looks, It's like moving house but without the excitement of having a new house to go to. The admin is endless and the clean up is epic. We have been sludging through it all, whilst juggling the kids and general messy life things.
Whilst we sweep up and unscrew and fill holes, and move things and worry about what to do with all the things, you can sit back and have a look at our supercharged website!
It's bursting with more stock than our little shop could ever hold. Shipping is FREE on ALL ORDERS and there is so much on there, go and have a look. if you're not surprised about how much is on there, then, well - you're just jealous.
SHIPPING IS NOW TOTALLY FREE ON ALL UK ORDERS!
No minimum spend. No catches. No fine print, no shipping fees!
Everything ships from right here in the UK, so the lovely things you order don't have far to travel. Unless itâs a custom-made piece, itâll be on your doorstep before you know it.
Our Folkestone shop on The Old High Street will be open until Sunday 22nd March, if youâd like to come by before we close the door at number 65 for the last time.
A quick note for anyone wondering - thereâs no closing down sale.
Weâre not closing the business, just our physical shop, and everything will be continuing online. đ
If youâve been meaning to pop in for a while, nowâs a good moment to do it, come and say hello (and goodbye) and give us a hug. But not a sad one, because we are not closing down, just moving online only đ
Weâd love to see a few familiar faces before the weekend is over.
If you have Moocycle credit or a gift card donât panic, come and spend it this week, or not - we accept it on our website as normal anyway and we aren't closing down, we will be online as normal, actually weâll be better online than ever! đ đđ
We opened this shop on The Old High Street almost nine years ago, when the world looked different and our family had different demands. We didnât think weâd make it through the Covid lockdowns, but our local customers carried us through to the other side, and we will never forget the immense support people showed. It feels like a very long time ago I was doing local deliveries on my bike đ˛
This isnât a decision weâve taken lightly. It is a decision weâve been putting off due to us having our head in the sand the pure blind love we have for our customers and this thing we have built with your help. But the spreadsheets have spoken. We will be closing the doors of number 65 The Old High Street. But Moo isnât over, a new era will begin, and weâre very excited.
Our final day in the shop will be Sunday 22 March.
Itâs not goodbye, youâll still be hearing plenty from us - but it does mark the end of this chapter. If you're an online customer your experience is about to get loads better as we will be channeling loads of energy into this side - and if you're local to Kent then we have some news to announce soon too.
Itâs been a real privilege to watch your children grow up, to be part of this street and community, and to get to know so many of you along the way.
A bittersweet moment, but not the end.
Weâve given MooCycle a new home upstairs.
We know how annoying those stairs are, so our pre-loved collection has taken over prime real estate in the shop. Weâve had a brutal clean out of ex-display toys too and boxed them up - you can grab a proper bargain.
If youâve been meaning to pop in and browse, nowâs a good time. The rails are full, everythingâs easier to see, and it looks bloody lovely up here.
Come and have a rummage. Weâre open Thursday-Sunday 10:30am-4pm.
