With everything going on in the world, I felt compelled to write this science fiction thriller, #Objects. Today I finished the first draft, writing it in one month. This is the most political, feminist, and surreal story Iâve ever written. And I have big plans for it. Limited locations, psychologically chilling, and mind-blowing twists and turns. Here we go!
Just wrapped up my new #screenplay, and Iâm thrilled with the feedback!
âThis #eroticthriller is a neo-noir revenge story with:
- a strong queer female POV
- a morally compromised âfixerâ
- a dangerous, grotesque villain
- and a sex-work / digital-persona world as the visual playground.
âA cam-girl/VTuber, her stripper girlfriend, and their lawyer boyfriend turn a crime lord into the star of his own real-time downfall to avenge a murdered sister.â
Itâs lush, operatic, erotic, and violent, with a poly, consent-aware, emotionally intelligent triad. Toffy shines as the emotional adult in the room, and the poly conversation is nuanced [and] humorous.â

As a total video game nerd, Iâm obsessed with how the atmosphere and lighting look. This is peak J-Horrorâcreepy ghosts, tragic lore, and those perfect Japanese aesthetic vibes.

Spoilers. So Iâm well into the Raccoon City portion of the game: Graceâs shocking backstory (easily the creepiest sequence in Requiem), Leonâs tragic memories of when he was a rookie on that fateful night thirty years ago, and the return of a familiar adversary. The appearance of the âshadow reflexâ first used by Wesker in Resident Evil 5 had me absolutely giddy. Survival Horror is a subgenre wholly unique to the video game art form; it canât truly be replicated in any other medium. At this point, even though I havenât yet reached the climax, I can confidently say that Requiem is the best Resident Evil game ever made, and maybe arguably one of the all-time greatest horror games.

I always try to put myself in the context of when a book was written. In the case of âCircus of the Damnedâ, the third Anita Blake novel, vampire fiction wasnât what it is now. The sheer glut of it didnât exist. Weâre talking the mid-nineties. The metaphor hadnât been done to (un)death before going into postmodernism, not just yet. Buffy was still a few years out. There was basically Anne Rice, and that was it. Well, there was Nick Knight, the worldâs politest Canadian vampire; everyone loves Nick. However, Laurell Hamiltonâs interpretation of the supernatural creepy crawlers in these early Blake novels relies on a certain âevery toy in the toy boxâ approach. Weâre talking five or six compelling ideas in a single novel, but only half of them are fully explored. Still, Iâd rather have too much creativity than lazy stock storytelling. Anita herself is a rather straightforward hardscrabble gumshoe, defined more by her, at the time atypical, femininity in a traditionally masculine genre than anything else. Which isnât to say I donât like Anita; sheâs quite charming in her own stonewashed way.
