One of the coolest projects I’ve ever worked on, the season finale of HBO’s Last Week Tonight with John Oliver was HUGE. This clip contains a TON of Flying Monster drone shots from our 8-person drone crew. LWT reached out to ask, “would you be interested in filming this explosion? You can do whatever you want!” We said “OMG YAAAAASSSSSS” so we helped develop the plan to capture the entire scene with sizzling hot aerial cinematics and to top it off, I flew a drone into the fireball! Truly a once in a lifetime moment for everyone involved. What you are about to watch is 100% real, no visual effects!
