Artist Spotlight: Monosync
After picking up the guitar at age eight, Monosync (Brody Nye) has been fascinated with the process of creating music. For most of his life he has remained in his studio playing and recording his drum machines, synths, samplers, and acoustic instruments. With multiple releases under his belt, he decided it was time to take his music onto the stage.
“In 2022 I built a live rig consisting of multiple machines synced together reminiscent of the way I do things in the studio. I elaborated on this setup by incorporating my guitar playing and utilised a channel on my mixer to receive my pedal board signal.”
The result is a musical playground for Monosync to experiment with live improvisation and songwriting. With his memorable melodies and programming style, Monosync is looking to bring something unique to the live scene of Perth.
