Yesterday was the 1st Annual Bigger Beast Records 21 Songwriters Music Festival (Maryland Edition) as we partnered with Focus Music to bring our signature festival to Maryland for the very first time.
As the proud founder of Bigger Beast Records & All Boats Rise Entertainment, it’s honestly surreal to watch this thing continue to grow into something so much bigger than I ever imagined.
The uncertain weather didn’t slow us down one bit. Two outdoor stages quickly became two outdoor stages and an indoor stage as we adjusted on the fly alongside Rob Hinkal & the incredible Focus Music team while 21 amazing artists sang their hearts out, helped raise money for Warrior Canine Connection (totals coming soon), and continued to fuel the fire of creative community.
Hosted by Christina Meadows, the music carried on long after the performances ended as artists and new friends gathered in our traditional “all are welcome” song circle sharing songs deep into the night while our Bigger Beast team broke everything down piece by piece.
I finally made it back to the hotel a little after midnight and was asleep the second my head hit the pillow.
What’s wild to me is that 21 Songwriters started as a one-time event in Connecticut. Two years later, it has become a true movement rooted in songwriting, collaboration, community, and human connection. Every state somehow takes on its own personality while still feeling like home.
Huge love to Focus Music, Monocacy Brewing, every artist, volunteer, and every single person who hung out with us through the uncertain weather and chose community anyway.
And we’re just getting started.
