I’m excited to announce that my first book, The Meaning of Jungkook: The Triumph of BTS and the Making of a Global Pop Superstar, will be published this summer by Simon & Schuster. I first covered BTS for Vogue in 2017, but never imagined those articles would lead to a full-fledged book in 2025. It was an honor to be tasked with this project, which celebrates the achievements of Jungkook and BTS and examines the different cultural forces that lead to their rise. I spent a year re-immersing myself in the K-pop world to try to do them justice, and I hope that longtime ARMY and newcomers will walk away with a deeper appreciation! The book will be out June 10—the same week of BTS’s 12th anniversary and when Jungkook, Jimin, V, and RM complete their military service—in the U.S. from S&S, the U.K., Australia, New Zealand from Headline. Brazil and Japan, you’re coming soon.
