Exhibit
Clad in textured limestone brick and rendered concrete, the palette shifts from a tactile exterior to a soft, refined interior of natural stones and timber.

Ember
The low, monolithic form is shaped by wind, sand, and horizon, carefully embedded within the dune landscape. The architecture emerges through iteration, balancing craft and precision to create a calm, grounded retreat.
The design concept was explored through watercolour sketches and physical models, testing ideas through hand and eye before they are resolved in plan and section.

Ember
Conceived as a coastal threshold on Te Arai’s dunes, Ember mediates between forest and sea, and provides layers of openness and refuge.
Five bedrooms and shared spaces sit beneath a hovering roof, while courtyards and glazed edges invite quiet moments of reflection and warmth beside a fire.
