This song called Southbound is an Allman Brothers classic from their 1973 album Brothers and Sisters. (Written by Dickie Betts and sung by Greg Allman). Its featured often in their live concerts. For Monkeys Uncle singer is Gerard McDonell @gezmcdonell and 'ripping-it-up' guitarist is Peter Wright. Special guest appearance Ian Giddey on harmonica. The Letter was written by Wayne Carson recorded first by the Box Tops and also recorded by Joe Cocker in 1970. Backed by muscians drawn from LA's Wrecking Crew such as Leon Russel, Rita Coolidge, Jim Gordon and Carl Radle this performance by Monkeys Uncle pays tribute to these amazing musicians.
