On Friday, I had the gift of sharing at George Jay Elementary School in Victoria. It was part of their literacy week and I left with an overflowing heart!
It was such a joy to be in a school once again and to hear the laughter, and to feel the energy, and dynamism of children learning.
At the end of the assembly, there was a draw for 2 books for each class. In order for the students to have their name in the draw they had to have read a poem they or someone else had written.
The coolest part and what really got my heart was how excited everyone in a class was when one of their classmates names were drawn! It was such a beautiful example of holding each other up and celebrating the goodness that had just come into their classmates life.
Its now Monday morning and I am still feeling their love and joy for each other!
What a profound lesson we can take from these students at George Jay Elementary🫶🏽🙌🏽
