(LINK IN BIO) I used to hate swearing, but the world has become so intense that sometimes youโve just gotta say, fuck it! This c-word was originally pretty derogatory, but some qweens have even reclaimed it to describe someone they like as a good cunt. I remember in the early 2000s, though, when men in comedy thought it was edgy to uneloquently use a part of a womanโs anatomy and drop the c-bomb. I used to think the difference between clowns and comedians was the first were representational and the latter were presentational. The first shows us our humanity through physicality. The other tells us about our humanity through text. But as the culture of comedy evolves, there is now more crossover in how one uses the elements of performance. A few skilled comedians now make caricatures of themselves through use of accentuated costume, physicality and delivery. Comedy is just more popular than clown as we live in a world of words, but actions speak louder.
