I am a tree hugger. I helped save this tree too.
This roadside tree has been giving us shade, fresh air, and life for years.
Tahimik lang siya — doing its job, asking for nothing.
Nakakalungkot isipin na may nagtangkang sunugin siya several days ago.
Mas nakakalungkot na ang daming dumaan… pero parang walang nakapansin. Walang huminto. Walang nagmalasakit.
People were apathetic.
People were too busy.
People were indifferent.
Pero ang puno, hindi naman naging indifferent sa atin.
Trees protect us every single day.
So I made the call.
Good thing @bagacfirestation responded fast and put the fire out before it could spread.
Minsan ganito lang kasimple ang pag-aalaga sa kalikasan.
Notice, care, act.
Today, I hugged this tree to remind it that there are still some who still notice, care, and dare to act to save them.

Every year, as we welcome the new year, the planet chokes on the fumes of our celebrations. While fireworks fill the sky with color, they also pollute the air and harm the animals we share this planet with. Celebration should not come at the expense of life and nature. It’s time to rethink our traditions and choose a healthier, more responsible way forward.
