Equipped with a camera, Mona Hermann and Sarah Drath explored the phenomenon of loneliness aboard a transatlantic liner sailing between Hamburg and New York. Amidst the vastness of the open sea and the company of 4000 fellow passengers, the necessity of both nautical and interpersonal navigation becomes evident.
For the exhibition Blue Hour, Mona Hermann transforms her insights into the ship's interiors into an installation within the Gästezimmer of IMAGINE THE CITY, located not far from the new cruise terminal set to open next year. During the Blue Hour, the transitional moment between day and night, artificial and natural light align. Screens, images, colors and water surfaces blur into a space of isolation.
Opening: 8.12.2023, 18:00 - 22:00
Exhibition: 9.12.2023 - 7.1.2024
Opening hours: 9.12.-15.12. / 15:00 - 18:00 and upon request until 7.1.2024 [email protected]
