A Molly Wellmann Mint Julep on Derby Day is something everyone should experience at least once. Good news, this Saturday is your chance. Molly will be behind our Mint Julep Station at Braxton Covington from 2:30–7 PM, pouring her signature Mint Julep recipe all afternoon. Don't miss it. Derby Day only comes once a year, and this is how you do it right.

She needs no introduction. But when @MollyWellmann joins your 11-year anniversary party, you shout it from the rooftop anyway. The Queen of Cocktails will be up top this Saturday from 2 to 6 PM, pouring specialty cocktails and celebrating right along with us. Come grab a drink, say hi, and lift one to 11 years of Braxton.

I have to show you all this awesome purse !!!!!I have been collecting vintage box purses for like ever, I’m always on the search for the most unique ones ,and this past Sunday at the Burlington Antique Show I found this absolute gem. Mid-seventies box purse completely covered in Caroline Williams sketches. Music Hall, Fountain Square, the Taft Museum, the Island Queen, Mount Adams, the Mt. Adams Incline — all the most ionic places that have made Cincinnati so special .Caroline William’s was so amazing. She saw Cincinnati like nobody else — Williams was born in Covington in 1908 and grew up in College Hill. She studied at the Art Academy of Cincinnati and the Art Students League of New York. She started at The Enquirer as a staff artist in 1932, following in her father’s footsteps. Carll B. Williams had been director of The Enquirer art department and was known for illustrating Robert F. Schulkers’ “Seckatary Hawkins” stories. on Nov. 13, Caroline Williams debuted her series, “A Spot in Cincinnati,” with a sketch of the city skyline as seen from Liberty Hill. Her “Spot” sketches, along with historic facts she researched herself, ran weekly until Nov. 25, 1979 .the grand buildings and the hidden corners, the soul of the city. She captured it all as it changed. People clipped her sketches out and kept them like treasure. Williams became a freelancer in 1945, and moved to Burlington, Ky where she lived in a century-old log cabin. She converted the chicken house to hold her own printing presses that she used to print her books. Her books include “The City on Seven Hills” (1938), “Mirrored Landmarks of Cincinnati” (1939), “As Always – Cincinnati” (1951) and “Cincinnati – Steeples, Streets and Steps” (1962). This purse is Cincinnati history in my hands, and I am obsessed! It’s also so fitting that I found it in the same town where she had retired !
