Our 7th pig roast was a smashing success! Thanks to this year's victim, LARDY GAGA, and to naming contest winner @elliotwilliamsphotos for the inspired suggestion. (You will have to take my word for it that there was a pig, because I misplaced my phone for the duration of the festivities and was unable to collect photographic evidence.)

Congrats to my fellow moms: after several years that saw a disturbing rise in anti-mom sentiment, this year the vibes are more pro-mom than any year I can recall. We did it! Let's keep up this propaganda campaign.

Another wonderful birthday with the man who always treats me right. I'm old enough to wear orange when I feel like it.

Little League season in the mid Atlantic: every preseason practice rained or snowed out, then the season starts and it's 93 degrees. These boys have been playing together since tee ball, 6+ seasons!

Bat mitzvah of Miriam Green Kihara, 3/21/26. So proud of our hardworking girl, whose friends honored her with a Dr Pepper bouquet. And so precious to have family all together.

This clever, hilarious kid is ELEVEN! He's also the only member of my family still shorter than me... for now!

Happy Valentine's Day to my one and only. Good restaurant but do not order the cooked onion.

January 2016 -> January 2026. Some things have changed, but this boy still loves a snowy day.

267 years ago today, the legendary Scottish poet Robert Burns was born. To this day, his legacy is celebrated at "Burns suppers" all around the world: drinking whisky, eating haggis and other delicacies, reciting poetry and listening to bagpipes. This year I had the great honor of defending my gender by delivering the Reply from the Lasses in rebuttal to our very talented host's toast/roast, which he delivered in original rhyming verse. So I wrote my own original 36-stanza poem, a few of the LESS spicy lines of which are shown here. Last slide is some stanzas from Burns' "The Jolly Beggars" (1785) that I used for inspiration. Such a wonderful occasion, full of great food and warm feelings. Huge thanks to our hosts @mollyhbyrne & Scott for introducing us to this fantastic tradition. MEN, STOP READING NOW. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Girls, I think we won. :)
