Never formally 'announced' this at the time, but exactly one year ago today, I founded Blue Door Productions- a social-first, viral production house, based in Notting Hill (where else would we be!). No fanfare or big reveal when it happened- just me, a laptop, and a hankering to build a creative studio that could turn risk into reach, and mold ideas to become stories. 🚀
I didn’t totally know what I was doing. In most cases, I'm still winging it, but we must be doing something right.
In our first year, our clients' content has hit:

10+ million new youtube subscribers
3+ million new instagram/ TikTok followers
All this despite a slightly unexpected detour in the form of a truck running over me… gotta say it felt, metaphorically, on-brand. 🤦♀️
Beyond the numbers... I'm so grateful for the experiences. Dozens of trips around the world, sleepless nights with crew, challenges overcome by grit and teamwork, and so many laughs shared. 🫶
So this is a quiet thank you — to the Blue Door family (you know who you are), to the freelancers who keep us moving, to the clients who have entrusted us with their passions, and to my family and friends, who have watched me juggle oh so many moving parts this year! I've always been a bit of a workaholic 🙈

Who let the dogs out (of Morocco) 🇲🇦🤫🛩️ 🐶 4 countries in 24 hours with 9 dogs and 7 people on a private jet... this was one "for the grandkids" 😂 A very special, emotional project, documenting the efforts of shelters all over the country, and rehoming doggos with families across Europe and the UK. I will never forgot this story.

Where to begin...
As a child raised in Battery Park City, mere minutes from the site of the Twin Tower wreckage, I distinctly remember the events of 9/11 unfolding and the aftermath of how it changed politics in America. Without going too deep into it, there were campaigns of modern day propaganda, and the fear mongering of the 24 hour news cycle. It's in part why I studied journalism at university, to make a case against sensationalism in favour of true storytelling.
I've yearned for travel my whole life, craving to discover the unfamiliar and perhaps even uncomfortable because I know it pushes me to grow, challenges my perspective, and almost always leaves me feeling happier and more grateful for the life I have. No wonder I became a producer.
Iraq has been a country at the top of my bucket list forever, so when the opportunity to reroute #projectlimitless resulted in our diversion through Iraq, I was quite excited.
My loved ones felt differently. As I put our team's plan in motion, leaning on extensive research and trusted advisors, family and some of my closest friends voiced strong opposition. I don't blame them. For decades we have been fed narratives about this part of the world that would scare anyone into avoidance and judgement. But deep down, despite my own apprehension, I wanted to prove everyone wrong. I wanted Iraq to prove me wrong.
Boy did it. And for that I have to say thank you to our friends in Kurdistan. They showed our team kindness and hospitality, that which I've rarely come across- even in Irish households.
Our week in the Northern region included school visits, wildlife rehabilitation with activists, meetings with government officials, and a warm reception from a respected Sheikh. I ate delicious homemade food, listened to harrowing personal accounts, was welcomed to free accommodation, learned so much about the history and religions of the area, and drank oh so much sugary tea 😂☕️🇮🇶
I truly can't wait to visit again.
