“May this park be a place where children play and the freedom Max fought for. Where every visitor is reminded that we all have a role in standing against hate. Max often said “I must tell the world what happened.” Today, through this park, we promise Max that we will keep telling that story for him.”—Larry Eisen, son of Holocaust survivor Max Eisen Closing out the week with an incredible milestone. 🩷 This past Wednesday, May 5, Holocaust survivor and educator Max Tibor Eisen,z”l, was posthumously honoured by the City of Vaughan with the renaming of a park in his memory. This milestone marks a significant moment for our community of Holocaust survivors — one where we recognize not only their immeasurable contributions to our society, but also the enduring legacy they have left for future generations. For decades, Max shared his experiences with thousands through his work at the former Neuberger Holocaust Education Centre, Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center, and by accompanying groups on the March of the Living. His dedication and commitment to Holocaust education will forever live on in the lives of those he touched with his remarkable story. May his memory continue to inspire generations to stand against hatred, preserve truth, and never forget.

It is with profound sadness that we announce that on Wednesday April 22, 2026 Harry Rozendaal passed away peacefully in Warsaw, Poland just days after participating on the March of the Living. At 95 years old, he wanted to participate on the March to honour his mother, Catherina, who was captured by the Germans in the fall of 1943, deported to Auschwitz, where she was murdered. Harry had the opportunity share his testimony in Auschwitz with hundreds of young people and adults. He left an indelible impact. We are sending love and strength to the entire Rozendaal family. May Harry’s memory be for a blessing 🩵

Day 2 (post #1) - the day of the March of the Living. We started at Auschwitz Concentration Camp and walked to Birkenau Extermination Camp, reversing the path of the death marches. The purpose is to honour Holocaust victims, combat antisemitism and educate participants on the atrocities of the Holocaust. It brings together thousands of people, including survivors from all over the world. #motl #holocaustremembranceday #israel #exterminationcamp
