Because some people secretly compete with the very people they claim to love.
Don’t follow fake adults who normalize envy, gossip, and silent hatred. A real elder, friend, mentor, or family member pours life into the youth. They encourage you publicly and privately. They don’t wait for strangers to validate your greatness before they show support.
Understand this clearly:
A lot of people are comfortable with you struggling. They only become uncomfortable when you begin rising beyond their limitations.
That fake love be disguised as “I’m proud of you” with no actions attached. But support is not always money. Sometimes support is consistency, encouragement, reposting, speaking your name in rooms you’re not in, and genuinely wanting to see you win.
Young brothers and sisters, protect your energy. Everybody around you is not part of your growth. Some people stay close only to monitor you, not motivate you.
