I dreamt of a life in which I travelled, created characters that I found a lot of depth in, developed stories, worked with legends and vibed with good people. ❤️
Honoured to be nominated among such lovely actors for the @aacta awards also known as the Aussie Oscar’s for @shaydafilm - so many people came together to make this film with our incredible filmmaker Noora Niasari.
Some of you already know a few years ago I co-starred in a human rights short film Aban + Khorshid, based on a true story of two same sex lovers that get killed for their love. If you were to make a film like this in Iran you would be jailed and lashed and probably worse.
Right now in Iran there is the known case of Elham Choubdar, 24 a lesbian who is awaiting execution. I can only imagine the many cases we don’t know.
The film was lucky to be well received winning the @festivaldecannes emerging filmmakers showcase, special jury award at @seattlefilmfestival best of festival @psfilmfes , best of fest at @outfest and was a @vimeo staff pick.
