The interior design takes its cues from what was already present. The existing granulated wall finish in the corridors became the starting point for the bar design. Its form follows the traces of the original tiled floor, which still outlines the former canteen kitchen. By introducing warm wood alongside granulate surfaces and stainless steel details, the bar feels as though it has always belonged to the space. A quiet reference to the spirit of the 1950s runs subtly through the design.

We were asked to reimagine Westwood with a renewed identity. One where clubbing remains at the heart of the experience, yet the space can effortlessly shift into a wedding venue or event location. The assignment called for a multidisciplinary approach, focusing on adaptability, atmosphere, and transformation. A modular bar and a separate, fully modular DJ booth together form the social and musical core of the venue. Both elements can be repositioned and reconfigured, allowing the space to transform and support a wide range of settings, moods, and events.

The old telephone exchange on Constant Rebecquestraat in The Hague was built between 1951 and 1955 and served as an important hub for telephone traffic for many years. The building, a typical example of post-war reconstruction architecture, features various artworks and has since been designated a municipal monument. Since the 1980s, its function has declined, and despite redevelopment plans, a large part of the building has remained vacant for quite some time. Flora has been given the opportunity to open its doors here with a restaurant and its own cinema on the 6th floor, overlooking the city.
pictures of the end result will follow soon.
