Meet Mohammed, Milele Museum’s Documentation & Visual Production Lead, from Sudan 🇸🇩
He’s the eye behind the archive — capturing the details, the textures, the in-between moments that make our work live beyond the present. From filming to editing ✂️ to preserving our visual record, Mohammed ensures that what we build today can be revisited tomorrow.
If you’ve watched, rewatched, or saved a Milele moment — that’s his lens at work 👁️✨

In the rhythm of breath and the language of limbs
We fold the streets into stages,
Balance dreams on palms and spine
Two bodies, one story, told in motion and silence

In March 2025 I had the pleasure to co-facilitate and document One Room 4 Archives project. A touring workshop organized by @milelemuseum in collaboration with @savvycontemporary and other local partners, taking place in 4 different regions of Rwanda, covering indigenous knowledge preservation, namely local medicinal plants, teaching and learning about them, then digitally preserving them.
1 to 5 slides were taken at Urumuri Primary School in Burera, Northern Province.
6 to 10 slides were taken at Nyundo Arts School in Rubavu, Western District.
This was done with @riftdigitallab by @abdalsalam.alhaj

A couple of days ago, I was lucky enough to meet an extraordinary human being. A true artist and a special educator. Trust Mutekwa (@ticha.muzavazi ) is a Zimbabwean multidisciplinary visual artist, Mbira player, teacher for the visually-impaired children, and now a teacher of teachers at Nyamata Teachers Training College in Bugesera, Rwanda. A man with an extraordinary backstory that have been occupying my mind since meeting him, with such one of a kind presence.
In this elegant outfit, Mr. Mpawenimana (Innocent) served us and school kids the best lunch, during our visit to Urumuri Primary School, a very remote school that has one of the most breathtaking views I've ever seen, overseeing a lake and three volcanos. The whole experience was magical.
