Last month, I had the chance to be part of a group mentoring program for @uniwestminster 2nd year film & production students. Big shout out to Mariia Kogan and Silvya Jyothi for the opportunity and for recognising my work. It really means a lot.
It’s been a while since I’ve spoken in this kind of setting, but stepping back into it reminded me just how much I enjoy supporting the next generation of creatives and how much I learn from them too.
For me, mentoring isn’t just about sharing my journey. It’s about listening and understanding what the next wave of creatives are dreaming about, what challenges they’re facing, and how they see the industry evolving. Sometimes, people don’t need advice. They just need someone to see them, hear them, and back their vision.
The sessions took place in person at Harrow Campus, and we explored:
- Understanding who you are: "because knowing yourself is the foundation"
- Overcoming challenges in your career: "the real stuff no one prepares you for"
- Building resilience & self-care: "because creativity is a marathon, not a sprint"
What stood out the most was the honesty, the raw conversations, and shared experiences that reminded me we’re all figuring things out as we go.
I’m definitely looking forward to doing more of this. If you’ve ever thought about mentoring, just go for it. You don’t need to have all the answers you just need to show up, be open, and make space for people coming up in the industry and trust me, you’ll take away just as much as you give.

Been building this with @asante____ for a while. We just wanted to create a space for sound, culture, and genuine connection. This collaboration was just a simple coffee conversation and the process just felt natural and honest. With love and respect, CURATED Live Vol. 1.
