Chris Caines @chris_caines_
Gail Priest @gailpriestess
Saturday 18 October 7:30 – 10:00pm Wentworth Falls School of Arts 217-219 Great Western Hwy Wentworth Falls Chris will be presenting a new live audiovisual project called Logue, a visual music piece composed from audiovisual field recordings collected over a ten-year period across Europe, Australia, the US and Asia. These fragments are composed into arcs of abstract and interpolated memory using the rhythms inherent in the audio signatures of place and the textures of images collected while in motion.
Gail will draw on recent research at the Melbourne Electronic Sound Studio (MESS), exploring ideas around parts and wholes, fields and backgrounds. Her live exploratory music uses voice, micro sounds of objects, field recordings, and electronics as feeds into a system of transformation.
Both artists live and work on the lands of the Dharug and Gundungurra peoples in the Blue Mountains West of Sydney.
Tickets $40 General Admission $30 Concession & MAPBM Members

TODAY‼️ MAPBM Presents: MAP Art & Architecture Nexus
Saturday 13 Sept 3pm - 5pm
Wentworth Falls School of Arts
Presented by Dr Billy Gruner @billygruner with ‘The Chocolate Line’ presented by artist Sarah Keighery @keigherysarah
This presentation provides the origin story of Modern Art Projects (MAP), the predecessor of MAPBM today, and features the critically acclaimed Art and Architecture program held through the late 2010s in mid-century homes and buildings of architectural significance across the Blue Mountains.
The founding MAP group co-founded by artists Dr Billy Gruner, Sarah Keighery, David Haines and Dr Sarah Breen-Lovett formed an experimental approach to presenting contemporary arts concepts, exhibiting works by both emerging and internationally renowned artists. It was a paradigm shift in the local arts eco-system, attracting audiences from greater Sydney and the regions.
