“For the love of running and community!”
Playwright, performer, and producer Taiwo Aloba is a powerful storyteller whose work explores heritage, power, identity, and the human cost of history. Through bold, emotionally grounded narratives, Taiwo creates work that bridges the past and present, centering people, memory, and the legacies that shape who we become.
At IHRAM, we are deeply grateful for Taiwo’s artistry and her commitment to telling stories that honor African history, amplify resilience, and make space for voices that deserve to be heard. Her dedication to championing artist voices and uplifting bold African narratives embodies the spirit of our mission.
We’re also excited to celebrate Taiwo’s upcoming production this February: NIGERIAN SON, a compelling one-act play set during the Nigerian Civil War. The play examines intergenerational tensions within a family navigating a shifting nation, inherited trauma, and the weight of legacy — offering an intimate, urgent look at history through a deeply personal lens.
NIGERIAN SON will run for three performances at The Chain Theatre, a must-see for lovers of meaningful, socially resonant theatre.
Thank you, Taiwo, for your vision, courage, and commitment to storytelling that moves culture forward.
