Her two seemingly polarized professions found common ground in textile surface design. She worked as a textile designer in the fashion industry in Los Angeles and later pursued her postgraduate studies as a scholar in textile design at the University of Arts London, Chelsea College of Arts. VR is mainly an abstract painter; She has been for 30 years studio assistant to Nicolas Carone, one of the most relevant member of the abstract expressionist movement in New York. VR collaborated with monumental American sculptress Beverly Pepper for relevant art exhibitions and international events. Parallel to her art work VR has worked as professional in several humanitarian projects in the Middle East, Africa and Asia, gaining a profound insight of the art a vanguard and culture of those countries where she lived and exhibited thus shaping her artistic and cultural knowledge.
