Afrika Bambaataa 1957-2026_Early Hip Hop pioneer and DJ. I photographed Bambaataa in mid 2004 and what a session it was ! The brief was simply to grab an interesting portrait of him. We literally had close to zero budget for this shoot, so I suggested he come over to my apartment and we set up a small studio there. The next 3-4 hrs was so surreal. He bought a trunk of clothing, and then proceeded to change into various costumes without any explanation, and at one point he was in some sort of semi Batman outfit ! The whole thing was fascinating and as a photographer you kinda live for these moments. The photos ended up being pretty good and I loved the final album cover art. #hiphop #djing #zulunation #afrikabambaataa #photographer @afrika_bambaataa_official

Last year we were asked to shoot this Puma x ET collab, ( yes that E.T. ! ) A little hesitant at first but after doing a deep dive and rewatching the film I was inspired how “dark” the film was, and a chance to relive our childhood. The series here shows final art work, BTS of the set, reference screen grabs from the film and hand drawn sketches that were used as early references for the treatment of this project ! Lots of people involved but a special shoutout to @trulydex for understanding all my lighting directions. #puma #extraterrestrial #sneakers #sports
