Alana as Judith in the Apocrypha: Book of Judith and the Head of Holofernes
is the embodiment of feminist rage shifting projections of women in archetypal beauty, passivity, submission, perfection, and classic female stereotypes.
Judith is the refusal of these confines. In the dark folds of the city of Bethulia, came the salvation of her city as she holds the head of Holofernes, a triumph against, among many things, the chains of patriarchy.
Judith projected the complexities of a woman led by her dissent utilizing the archetypes that the likes of Nebuchadnezzar had projected onto women—her cunningness.

It is strange to long for something that never existed, yet feels so close it almost hurts. Dreamcore lives in that space between memory and imagination, where lost childhoods and forgotten dreams quietly breathe again.

IN PRAISE OF WHAT?!
THE CONUNDRUM'S SECRET TO REBELLION—
2025, Modamorph x Art Rebels
Is a 300+ page tripartite experimental zine; a bible of chaos, anti-editorial fanzine that refuses order, bites perfection, and drowns in the absurd freedom of being alive, visceral, and raw in a world that is used to perfection and order. A materialized print of many forms of rebellion and anger. Of conundrum taken as a knife against silencing.
Featuring artists, enthusiasts, thinkers, writers, and experimentalists from around the globe, each page in the tripartite zine involves provocation, messy truths, and a creative anarchy at its rawest.
Our sacred philosophy? B R A I N R O T .
A rejection of elitism and exceptionalism in art and "rationality". We need something that feels, thinks, and provokes all at the same time.
Something grounded.
Something satirical.
Something very visceral and disturbing.
⚠️ READ AT YOUR OWN RISK. THIS IS AN INSTALLATION THAT WILL NOT PUT YOU TO REST.

Most often than not, Filipino artists are often nudged into creating works that “sell” instead of speak. After all, it’s for artistic and existential survival. When marketability becomes the medium, it may betray the very spirit of expression it was meant to uphold.
This article asks the question, what is lost when art is made only to be liked? Exploring the quiet power of art that doesn’t fit the mold... and refuses to. Here, defiance is not only loud. It becomes steadfast, stubborn, and gloriously unsellable.

Nagsasawa ka na ba? Neither retro fetish nor indie cliché, Eggboy’s music haunts the present like a memory that never belonged to you. More than a throwback, Eggboy’s music functions like a temporal glitch: familiar, yet dislocated. His music doesn’t chase relevance but rather lingers. This piece explores how Eggboy’s work defies the aggressive pacing of pop culture by leaning into lo-fi vulnerability, slow growth, and emotional residue that feel like déjà vu from the future.

“What remains of history if archives can be broken? Can truth ever stay whole?”
For ISSUE 05, Augustas Jocys shared his work called “Split Narratives”. It investigates and exploits the fragility of the archive and its capacity as a truthful communication tool to build grand historical narratives. The book proposes a physical form for counter-narratives to emerge through the act of destruction, questioning the relation between the possibility of seeing and forms of oppression and emancipation.
This project looks at the archive not as a place of certainty but as a fragile space where memory shifts, facts slip, and images lose their ground. By working with photographs from Lithuania’s inter-war and post-war years, often without authors or full context, it confronts the idea of the photograph as truth. Through re-curating and sequencing, counter-narratives appear, questioning what histories are preserved, what is erased, and what we are allowed to see.
Augustas Jocys is an architectural designer, currently based in London, studying MA Architecture at the Royal College of Art. Alongside architecture, their practice extends to sculpture, mixed-media art, writing and installation design exploring the cultural and material conditions of contemporary life.

Has liberation been reduced to looking good while playing the part?
From viral “girlhood” edits to the rising stock of the hyper-feminine ingénue, today’s brand of feminism trades structural change for palatable aesthetics. We’re told it’s choice, we’re told it’s power. But as “empowered” femininity becomes synonymous with soft-core sensuality and market-ready sex appeal, it’s time to ask: who is this performance for?

MAKE SPACE (COMING THROUGH) (2021)
“This is one of my oldest collages and not only does it cover a disconnect of reality it also covers this idea of making space for yourself in places and positions that often don’t want you. As a working class artist, I often have to fight and force myself into situations that don’t always value my time nor effort. This piece was a physical manifestation of ‘you’ll never keep me out’.”
Primarily working with found imagery and printed materials, Georgia Scholes reinterprets the cyclical rhythms of life and sentience to create figurative, abstract, and conceptual collages. Her work is directly influenced by her personal experiences living with depersonalisation and derealisation, states that cause her to feel disconnected from reality. Scholes’ artistic creations provide a way to coexist with an existentialism that impacts her daily life. This altered sense of self allows her to work “on a different wavelength,” producing liminal and surrealist visual landscapes that address everything and nothing at once.
Georgia Scholes was based in South London but is currently back home in Rochdale, Greater Manchester. She has always been involved in art but began focusing on collage around 2021.

This collection on soft rage is a disturbance. No sharpness, with apparent barriers, the softness should unsettle. Here, vulnerability is reframed not as weakness as what the oppresive structures have taught us. It is but a protest and refusal to let rationality dictate which parts of our humanity are worth showing. Like Putnam’s brain in a vat experiment, we wonder whether we are in a simulation and that our brains are fed with the narrative that emotions, tenderness, and even fluid gender expressions are irrational, therefore disposable.
But who will be the devil’s advocate for this brain in a vat? What happens when we unlearn this, when we stop worshipping reason as pedestal and begin to honor softness and vulnerability as something we owe ourselves and to others?
This work resists the gaze that demands hardness, clarity, and control. It embraces blur, distortion, and even expressions that are too tender to be contained. To be soft is to rebel. To feel is to resist.
