🔺 Mochnarte Foundation Open Call 2026 🔺 The Mochnarte Foundation, established in 2022, is a fully private project creating a space for contemporary artists from Belarus, Ukraine, Poland, and other countries. Over the past three years, the residency has hosted more than 50 participants, and the foundation has organized over 10 exhibitions and 18 public events. Mochnarte supports emerging artists, curators, and cultural practitioners, strengthening the independent cultural ecosystem of the region and fostering cross-border solidarity. The foundation aims to rebuild connections where they have been disrupted, supporting artists forced to leave their homes and countries. ⸻ How to Apply for the Mochnarte Residency Please send a single PDF to [email protected], including: – Portfolio, CV, and artist statement (up to 10 pages). Be sure to indicate your country of residence. – Project description (title, concept, and implementation plan). In your cover letter, please specify your preferred residency dates and indicate whether you need support in applying for mobility grants. Кароткатэрміновы візіт Руфіны Базловай у Мохнартэ стаў нагодай бліжэй пазнаёміцца і прыемна правесці час разам. Падчас сустрэчы мы шмат размаўлялі, гулялі па наваколлі і наведалі вузкакалейку. Руфіна таксама пабачыла сваю працу ў калекцыі Мохнартэ. Будзем рады новым сустрэчам і магчымасці працягнуць дыялог у будучыні. @rufinabazlova / Rufina Bazlova’s short visit to Mochnarte became an occasion to get to know each other better and spend some pleasant time together. During the visit, we had many conversations, walked around the surrounding area, and visited the narrow-gauge railway. Rufina also had the opportunity to see her work in the Mochnarte collection. We look forward to future meetings and the possibility of continuing the dialogue in the future.

Гафт працуе тут як прылада змены: не ўпрыгожванне, а жэст, які хавае, перазапісвае, робіць сляды непазнавальнымі, прысутнасць амаль незаўважнай. Паралельна мастачка працуе з «Месяцовым календаром садоўніка і агародніка» на 2026 год, пераасэнсоўваючы яго ў кантэксце дзвюх суседніх краін. @volha_maslouskaya / Territory Without Witnesses / Absorption / Territorial Mimicry Volha Maslouskaya explores and develops the fourth series of her work on mimicry, shifting it from the level of an individual organism to that of territory and landscape. In this series, mimicry becomes a strategy of the territory itself - a space that neither resists nor submits, but acts on its own terms. Camouflage operates here as a tool of transformation: not decoration, but a gesture that conceals, overwrites, and renders traces unrecognizable, making presence almost imperceptible. At the same time, the artist is working with the “Moon Calendar for Gardeners and Farmers” for 2026, reinterpreting it in the context of two neighboring countries.

Акрамя гэтага, Лена збірала і рыхтавала гукавыя і візуальныя матэрыялы для будучага фестывалю ў Орле, які адбудзецца ў ліпені гэтага года. @lena_torn_david / During her current residency, Lena Davidovich continues working on her project “Listen to me, you islands!”. In addition, she has been collecting and preparing audio and visual materials for an upcoming festival in Orle, which will take place in July this year.

Падчас вясновага абуджэння Мохнартэ стаў месцам працы для Жэні Давідзенка і Стаса Чахоўскага над праектам «ROZSTRZELANI ELEKTRO». @otra_jenia @arhedelic Песні на аснове вершаў рэпрэсаваных паэтаў набываюць новае электроннае гучанне. За гэты час з’явіліся новыя аранжыроўкі, быў запісаны вакал і выбудавана драматургія будучага альбома. Праца працягваецца, а вынік будзе прадстаўлены ў маі ў Мохнартэ ў фармаце аўдыяперформансу. / During the spring awakening, Mochnarte became a place of work for Zhenia Dawidenka & Stas Chekhovski on the project “ROZSTRZELANI ELEKTRO”. Songs based on the poetry of repressed authors are taking on a new — electronic — sound. During this time, new arrangements were created, vocals were recorded, and the dramaturgy of the future album was developed. The work continues, and the result will be presented in May in Mochnarte as an audio performance.

Preparatory meeting of the “Clinton Bench” project at the studio of Aliaksandr Adamau. Together with the project curator Uladimir Hramovich (via video call), we discussed the idea and implementation of Aliaksandr’s upcoming project and agreed on the next meeting in Mochnarte. The final presentation is scheduled for May 17. The program will include a historical lecture, artist talks, and presentations of the artists’ projects. Everyone is welcome to join us on May 17 at the Mochnarte Foundation.

The first resident of Mochnarte Foundation this year was the French artist Raphael Renaud. In his painting, he draws on everyday scenes captured through photography, transforming familiar moments into quiet, contemplative images. His works are distinguished by a subtle attention to light, a sense of intimacy, and recognition. In recent years, the artist has focused on small-format pieces, creating painterly “snapshots” that function as fragments of both personal and collective memory. During his residency, Raphael worked intensively, producing several new artworks, and also delighted us by preparing traditional French dishes. @raphael.renaud2
